VEF model HR-1003 am-fm radio
This is a model HR-1003, AM-FM transistor radio made in Latvia by VEF & Co.
VEF has a long radio history in Latvia dating to the 1920s.
Their website shows VEF is now concentrated on aircraft technologies.
This one has no markings but another example found on line shows the VEF logo.
I just couldn't pass up this fabulous symetrical futuristic design!
It includes an unusual 4 LED backlit dial feature.
Either a 4.5v adapter or batteries can power the radio.
It measures 9.5" across the base.
