RCA Radiola 30, made in 1925 and one of the earliest AC radios,
8-tube super-heterodyne, with great inlaid marquetry woodwork.
Definitely the largest radio I've ever encountered;
46" high, 47" wide, 21" deep and it must weigh 200+ pounds thanks to
sandbags used for sound baffles!
Advertisements for the Radiola 30 boasted "It has reserve power, more than you will need"!
and it "takes no more care than an electric lamp",
"Complete, $575", more expensive than cars of the day!
