This Monarch brand radio is made of white plaskon with brass trim and nameplate.
These were called "Du-ette" or "Tu-Way" radios because they were designed to sit either vertically or horizontally.
5-tube (5Z chassis) or 6-tube (6Y chassis) versions were options.
The white plaskon versions commonly develop stress cracks by the dial and grille corners.
Black with chrome trim cabinets were available also as seen below.
They were fully enclosed with matching plaskon/bakelite backs.
This late '30s radio was made by Continental Radio & Television Corp.
They were sold to many different distributors who then added their names to the cabinets.
Admiral, Truetone, Knight, Mantola, Goldentone and other names can be found on these radios.
5Z Schematics were published in Vol 8 of the Riders manuals.
6Y Schematics were published in Vol 8 of the Riders manuals.

The photo below shows the differences in the Monarch and Admiral cabinets.
The rounded corners of the Monarch's speaker opening and rounded trim go nicely together.
The black Admiral has sharper lines with squared corners in the speaker opening.
A different speaker trim design was also available, sometimes in copper.
