The Midwest model 18-36 is an 18-tube console with a fabulous chrome dial and chrome knobs, 1936.
It's in a cabinet that is shown in an ad below used with a 1933 Silvertone model,
not in the cabinet it was originally sold with.
This cabinet has a slide-in shelf and open face that would have fit many different radio chassis.
Many cabinet makers of the period would make cabinets to fit a variety of their retailer's radio models.
I don't know if this cabinet was intended for multi-model use,
and think that some time during its life, someone found it was a good fit.
The 2 knobs below the dial were originally pushbuttons.
See Antique Radio.org
