Majestic 5A410

Majestic Radio model 5A410 Zephyr, bakelite, 1946
The Majestic "Zephyr" was first introduced in 1939 as the model 250 and
continued up to WWII and then was reintroduced in 1946 as the model 5A410,
and later in 1951 as the model 5LA5 and 5LA6.
Although most frequently found with the Majestic name on it,
it was also sold under other brand names and model numbers.
The Airline model 15GCB-1583 (15GCB-1584 ivory) used the identical cabinet,
with the only difference being the knobs and the dial glass.
The radio was sold to other distributors who labeled them with their brands.
An example was found with the Cromwell name on the dial,
sold by Stark Sound Engineering Corp as the model 1020.
Ivory versions were usually factory painted, although white plaskon cabinets were also made.
Another version included pushbuttons on the top of the radio and
a coin-operated version with a pillow speaker was also available for motels and hospitals.
And the iconic 1949 Coke Cooler radio made by Point of Purchase
used the same chassis with a similar 5A410A model number.
