The Kadette L25 "Topper" is dated 1939, the year International Radio Corp changed
to Kadette Radio Corp when the General Sales Mgr of IRC, W. Keene Jackson,
purchased their Kadette brand name and radio manufacturing operations.
The short-lived KRC continued the inovative, unique and bold designs that IRC was known for.
The Kadette model L25 is an example of their outside-the-box creations,
with a top facing speaker to project in all directions.
They are very hard-to-find radios due to low production numbers.
This example was found with the original shipping box seen below.
It shows the same Kadette sentry logo with the name change from
International Radio Corp to Kadette Radio Corp.
Walnut or Ivory cabinets were offered,
some with a 2-tone walnut and ivory top, or ivory cabinet and walnut top,
as the Radio Retailing listings below mention.
One ad shows a version with corner thumbwheel knobs.
A wood "Topper" version was also offered, the model L29.
