The Coronado 43-8160 "Jewel" was first introduced in 1941 as Coronado model C5D14.
All radio production stopped during World War II
and when radio manufacturing began again, the Coronado "Jewel" was brought back as the model 43-8160 in 1947.
It is a very small radio (6"x 5"x 4") that was made by the Belmont Radio Corportation (BRC#5D118).

This is also found with the Belmont or Western Royal names on it.
The Western Royal version had "Western Royal Jewel" printed on the dial.
The Belmont versions had no name on the dial, and a Belmont decal on the cabinet below the dial.

Over the years the Belmont Radio Corporation made many other retail chain labled radios.
Manufacturing wholesalers such as Belmont shared identical cabinets with their different retailers names on them
as found with various Airline, Belmont, Coronado, Delco, Detrola, Freshman, Good Year, Mantola, Truetone and Western Royal models.
