Airline Radio model 74BR-1502B, white plaskon midget

This is a really great midget radio built to perfect eye-pleasing proportions.
It measures only 7.5" wide by 5.5" tall.
This ivory plaskon version is somewhat rare to this model,
which is otherwise a fairly common radio usually found in brown bakelite or ivory painted bakelite.
It is another Belmont-manufactured radio made under the Montgomery Wards' Airline name,
identified by the "BR" in the model number and the "BRC" (Belmont Radio Corp.) numbers on the label.
Airline's model number prefixes were the manufacturing dates in reverse and the manufacturer.
ie; 93BR- (1939 Belmont Radio), 04BR- (1940 Belmont), 14WG- (1941 Wells Gardner), 54BR- (1945 Belmont)...

The ivory model 74BR-1502B (74BR-1501B "walnut") was made in 1947 ("BRC#5D111B or 5D134B").
It was also made in late 1945 - the model 54BR-1502A/1501A.
These were a continuation of the identical pre-war model 14BR-521A/522A (BRC #5D12 1941).
In 1940, a similar radio was made, the model 04BR-512A/511A.
It did not have the "terracing" around the dial, but otherwise
the cabinet was the same and the dial was glass.
The later dial scales were a cellulose plastic that commonly shrunk and warped.
Many Belmont-made designs were sold under different names, although,
as far as I know, these models were exclusive to Airline.
A metal back cover acted as the "built-in" antenna.
Two different knob styles were used - seen below.
